It is too soon to tell what, if any, long term impacts todays fire will have on the ability of the center to operate, County Public Information Officer Julie Habiger said. We dont know much about the situation at the moment, as the first concern at the center was getting the fire under control. The facility was evacuated safely, according to reports, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. We do use the Friedman Recycle Center for recycling, Habiger said. Fortunately, this is not a residential recycling cart pick up week, so, we dont have any immediate or urgent needs to address with our local program, and we can store other recyclables from other pick ups commercially for the short term.
